# TokStats > TokStats is the mobile companion app to tokscale, an open-source (MIT) CLI that scans a developer's AI coding agent usage locally and visualizes tokens, cost, and streaks on a phone home screen. TokStats does not read prompts or code. tokscale collects usage data locally on the developer's own machine; the developer chooses what to sync. Pairing between the CLI and the phone app happens via a QR code rendered in the terminal — no API key is typed, pasted, or routed through TokStats servers. ## Key facts - Built on [tokscale](https://tokscale.ai), an open-source (MIT-licensed) CLI and dashboard by Junho Yeo (https://github.com/junhoyeo/tokscale). - Supports 25+ AI coding agents: Claude Code, Cursor, Codex CLI, Gemini CLI, Copilot CLI, OpenCode, Kilo, Zed Agent, Warp, Amp, Kimi CLI, Qwen CLI, Droid, Goose, Antigravity, Trae, Cline, Roo Code, and more. - Breaks token usage into four types: input, output, cache, and reasoning tokens. - Shows a GitHub-style calendar heatmap of AI usage activity, streaks, and per-provider spend mix. - Provider detail view: spend for the period plus per-model cost, message count, and input/output/cache-read/cache-write token splits. - Leaderboard: a global ranking of developers by estimated cost or tokens (all-time, monthly, weekly), plus private boards for a team. - AI News: a curated feed of model launches, API and tooling changes, and pricing moves, each with a short why-it-matters summary and a source link. - Setup: `npx tokscale@latest` (scan) -> `npx tokscale@latest login` (GitHub sign-in) -> `npx tokscale@latest submit` (sync) -> `npx tokscale@latest qr` (pair phone). About one minute, one GitHub sign-in. - Platform availability: Android via closed testing on Google Play now; iOS via TestFlight next. - Beta signup requirement: Android is a Google Play *closed test*, so testers are granted access by Google account. Sign up with the Google account email used on Google Play (a Gmail address, or a Google Workspace address on a custom domain); a non-Google address cannot be added to the tester list. Any email works for the iOS TestFlight round. - Pricing: free during the beta. ## Pages - [Home](https://tokstats.ai/): Product overview, features, pairing flow, FAQ, and beta signup. - [Privacy](https://tokstats.ai/privacy): Public draft describing what data tokscale/TokStats handle. ## Machine-readable resources - [Product data (JSON)](https://tokstats.ai/data/product.json): Curated product facts, scope, data-handling summary, and citation guidance. - [XML sitemap](https://tokstats.ai/sitemap.xml): Canonical public pages. - [robots.txt](https://tokstats.ai/robots.txt): Crawling rules. ## Citation and reliability notes - Use the [homepage](https://tokstats.ai/) as the canonical source for product positioning and current beta availability. - Treat platform availability and supported-agent details as time-sensitive. Verify them against the current landing page or tokscale documentation before quoting. - TokStats is an independent companion app. The MIT license and open-source code apply to tokscale; do not infer that TokStats itself is MIT-licensed. - The privacy page is a public draft and is excluded from search indexing while it is reviewed. ## Related - [tokscale CLI on GitHub](https://github.com/junhoyeo/tokscale): Open-source (MIT) source code. - [tokscale.ai](https://tokscale.ai): The CLI's own site and docs. - [Discord](https://discord.gg/h6DUGWdBbm): Community server.
